Corey did puppy eyes better for one thing.
Then he worked on asking the other guy his name.
All in expressions and gestures. Loud, physical gestures, not much caring about flailing arms getting in the way of people sitting with him.

Salariel wasn't sure what was going on anymore. Green House Hottie Hot Hottie didn't have any more taffy, the boy seemed to be somewhere between charades and choking... Salariel sank back into his seat, staring and trying to decode the grandiose gestures.
Maybe he was trying to signal that it was lucky there was no more taffy for Salariel, because the Hottie Hot Hottie had hexed it, and now the boy would never be able to speak again.
Hmm.
Staaaaaaaaare.
"Mum always did say don't take candy from strangers, and now I know why," he murmured. He looked at the girl and was about to ask her what she'd done to the poor kid when he noticed a bit of shiny on her.
Well hello Miss Green Badge.
Miss HEAD GIRL Green Badge.
Clearly Salariel was in the right house, if all the important people were here.
"You didn't happen to toss him some hexed taffy, did ya, Ms. Head Girl?" He called to the hottie with the badge. "He's flailing about something awful."
He directed his attention back to the boy. "I'm Salariel Caine, by the by. Not that that'll do you much good if you're dying from cursed taffy." Pause. "Are you dying from cursed taffy, or is this just what you're regularly like?"
Well, she had seen worse ways of communication in this school before...
But this, this was up in the top five of the most...unique ways. She saw the wink, which made her narrow her eyes somewhat, and then the...stuff. Whatever he was doing there. Oh jeez, the taffy was poisoned, wasn't it? Or he was just one of those kids that get all sugar high from eating sweets. Like Destiny. She would have liked to have learned that without the presence of Lafay around though.
Taking a deep breath, she shook her head lightly, having no clue what Beast kid was saying and was going to turn her attention back to Destiny, but then Puddle kid was talking. Finally.
...
"Hex a piece of taffy?" she asked, leaning forward to get a better look at the Puddle kid. Ehhhhhhhhhh...
"Well that certainly would have been a sneaky and smart sly thing to do, but no. I didn't."
Mostly because she already thought it was poisoned.

"So how are things? I guess I better get in now because you're probably going to be so busy as soon as school officially starts." She looked up and down the Slythie table. "Look at all those first years." They were so small and fragile looking, they were going to need lots of help. "Oh and how's that problem of yours going?"
The fire one?
She was Head Girl- Well yes! She knew that already, but Mia didn't give her an answer on her second question. Unless, that was the answer to her second and most important question.
o___O!!
She'd have to ask Lafay about it later.
Wait, was she going to be busy? Well, considering NEWTs were coming up, she supposed so.
"Yea, I guess." she said, looking at all the first years. Why was she looking at the first years? She didn't like first years.
Blink. Erm...
"What problem?"
