She paused on his name for just an second. Now was NOT the time to think about all that though. "My name is Kurumi," she said, almost bowing again, but she took his hand instead.
Adam gave Kurumi's hand a little shake, taken aback by the bow she had given him, but it was a nice gesture.
"It's nice to meet you too. Congrats on being Prefect." Adam didn't know how the whole selection process worked, but he figured it was an honor to be chosen/elected/however you got the position.

Adam was about to reach out to take a sip of the water in his goblet when he felt someone slide onto the bench next to him. Turning to look he spotted Paulie from the petting zoo...Nice.
"Yeah, it looks like we're housemates," Adam said with a little chuckle. In all honesty he was glad that there was another person that he knew in Gryffindor. Of course Kurumi was really nice from his little introduction with her, and he was sure there would be other nice people, but still, it was nice to already be friends with someone.
"So how was the rest of your summer? End up working with any animals?" Adam asked with a little grin. Oh, wouldn't it be ironic if they were partners or something in Care of Magical Creatures.
