As a general rule, Amy never went into beauty shops. Her mum brought her some make up for the begining of the term, but that was only mascara and lip balm, so that wasn't much. As for shampoo's and shower gels and facial scrubs, her mum gave her that for birthdays, the begining of the term and she got given it by her friends.

That said, it was coming up to her mum popping, and she'd been told she had to get her own stuff this year, and her dad had point blank refused to go into a beauty shop, afraid for his masculinity. And so she was on her own, sniffing perfumed air and feeling bloody nervous. She didn't do girly or pretty, she just didn't.

Shrugging with her fate however, she headed down the aisle, looking either for someone pretty, or a shop assistant to help her. Plus, she had to get a present for her mum for the "baby shower" ewww. So this was even more important. And that was a bad idea with Amy, who got distracted by everything, and hated beauty products
