Jake could feel his fists clench. Draven was really cruising for a bruising wasn't he? Hadn't he learned back in school that when it came down to a physical confrontation Jake always won. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he was an athlete and Draven was not. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Draven hid behind his name and was a coward deep down underneath all of his talk. Whatever it was however Jake was done with him.

He took a step forward until he and Connor were face to face, "Watch what you say Draven. Remember she choose me and not you. If I recall correctly you were never even a consideration in her mind. You were the best friend... weren't you? I feel bad for your wife knowing that she is second best in your mind... So how about you get your hands off of my wife and get off my property?"

Taking the cue from her husband's words she wiggle out of Connor's grasp and backed away from the two men. She looked at her husband and tried to process all of his words. They were true. She had never felt any romantic feelings toward Connor and they had only kissed once but that was the end of their sixth year after Connor admitted his love to Sophie. She didn't know at the time how to let him down easily so she let him kiss her once, but then she left the room that they were in and didn't speak to him until the fight the following year. However, hearing Jake say everything so bluntly made Sophie ashamed. Poor Connor was still in love with her and she had never been in love with him. Maybe she could have been, but he had made sure that he ruined that after the fight when he called her all of those horrid names.
