Sophie gasped when Connor grabbed her shoulders. What did he think he was doing? They weren't seventeen anymore, they weren't friends anymore, he was not supposed to touch her. Her eyes darted away from his when she heard the same voice that had caused Connor to stop mid-sentence. It was her husband.

"Jake," Sophie whispered.

Jake's eyes stayed fixated on Connor Draven who was on his property. "What are you doing on my property, Draven?"

His gaze averted for a moment to his wife who had just murmured his name. For a brief moment her eyes softened at the moment their eyes locked. But he shook the softness and looked Connor dead in the eyes, "Better question... why are you touching my wife?"
