Treyen didn't comment. What she said made total sense. He could be fine without her, while the last couple of weeks had been a complete disaster, he'd been fine. He was perfectly aware that he was better with her. However, he wasn't so sure about the other way around. But since she was the one saying it, then he supposed she'll be better without him. For starters, this wouldn't have happened if he hadn't asked her out in the first place.

And then she looked away. He didn't...BUT HE SHOULD HAVE.

Tears. Treyen just couldn't handle tears. Of any kind. His eyes widened, in panic, what was he supposed to do NOW? Gravity decided for him, or maybe his heart had sunk to a new low, because he was now sitting on the floor of the compartment. There was nothing he could do to stop her from crying, right? Mainly because he didn't know what had caused it in the first place. Yes, he'd caused it, he just didn't know exactly WHAT had caused her tears to start falling.

"I don't know what to do," he said, mostly to himself, as he leaned his back against the door. "I'm sorry," for not knowing what to do or say to make her feel better. That's all he wanted to do now, all he's wanted, actually.

No, wait. He ignored the water in his eyes and kneeled in front of her. "No, I'm not sorry, you need to believe me, because all I've said is the truth," and he was certainly not sorry for speaking the truth, despite all the trouble it might bring.

"And I stand with what I said, I want you, just you, not any other girl." She had to believe him, right? Because he was here, in this compartment, not another one.

Ellie heard, but again she couldn't think. So she took her time sniffling and rubbing her eyes, buying thinking time. It would really have helped if Treyen wouldn't talk. Thinking about her uncertainty with him while he was right in front of her was hard enough without him trying to convince her, and doubt of what he was saying nagging at her.

She...well, she did believe him, because it was SO hard not to. But she didn't want to believe him because she couldn't because she had done so in the past and it didn't work out very great on her end. Or his, either, it seemed. Then again, she wanted to believe him because he always seemed so truthful and why ever would he lie? Still, she didn't want to in case...in case he was lying about not lying. Again.

THAT...that he'd lie...again..."I'm afraid to..." Yeah...that seemed to...fit. Whether she could or wanted to believe him or not depended on how afraid she was to. And she was very much afraid.
