Medea took the invitation and sat. She followed Erica's movements as she set her work aside and retrieved a file or two from the cabinet.
With a polite smile she responded, "Well, every position in the Ministry is important, isn't it?" No, that was a lie, but it sounded good and politically correct.
Ms. Ward was completely confident in Ms. Radley's decision making abilities, and wasn't concerned at all over who she'd choose to fill the position. Medea couldn't say the same for some other Department Heads.
"Were you able to find a suitable candidate?" Medea held little faith in most people's ability, but surely there was one person in the department that fit the requirements. Not to mention, Medea didn't see Erica having too many slackers in her department. |
