| For Neptune & Lexi & whoever as well =) <3 ❄ Chasing Waterfalls & Wonder ❄ | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers SPOILER!!: Just Katie & Legend quotes within Quote:

But even as she sat with her hands in her lap, Katie knew she hadn't changed her mind even after thinking twice about it. Legend was still gripping the crown pendent hanging from around his neck, and this time her hand didn't retreat back when she reached toward him. Putting her hand on his, Katie didn't say a word and simply tried to loosen his hold and take his hand in hers.
Her gaze turning back to meet Hadley's, Katie's smile grew the tiniest bit, becoming an actual real small smile and not just her forcing it to be there. It felt very natural for their professor to keep her calm, professional demeanor, even when they were practically saying their goodbyes and Katie knew, whether or not she would admit to it, that Hadley must have felt more about them and the other seventh years that had attended her class than she would let on. "Thank you, again."
Surprisingly enough with how she felt, Legend's next words to Hadley actually caused the young brunette to laugh a little bit. It wouldn't be the end, if Legend didn't burst out with that. "Oh, come on, Professor. It is our last night, are you sure that's all? Won't you miss us? Who else was going to argue during your lessons and while visiting you in your office and.. every other place you've caught us?" Surely, she would miss them. Quote:

He tightened his grip, feeling the cool metal digging into his skin. Was she trying to take it back? Would she take it back forever? Just like Hogwarts, would he never see both again?
Lifting his other hand, he wrapped it around Katie's wrist and tugged on it and pulling it away but not before giving it a small squeeze. "Please...stop." His voice was light and steady but inside he was freaking out. He didn't want his pendent taken away, he didn't want to leave Hogwarts. He didn't want any of it.
But of course...Legend wasn't going to tell anyone that. He was going to act strong. Like a man. Because that was the Legend people were used to. He kept his hand, on top of Katie's in face she would try again.
This time when he turned to face Hadley again his face was not so smug. It was simple. More like sad even. "I have learned that Professor. Thanks to you. You really have made an impact in how I see things." He nodded. NOW he was done with feeling sad. He just wanted to be happy. Enjoy his last days in the castle. "But you have enjoyed us more right? You can't deny it Hadley! I don't see you speaking to any other students right now!" Sure there was no denying it; Josephina would indeed miss Katie Mae and Legend Chosen, but there were other students that should miss as well. She would miss those who only ever attempted one lesson of Arithmancy, just as much as those who studied it for years, or even those who refused to attempt the subject. But she wouldn't get emotional over it. If she did, then she would imagine she wouldn't last long as a Professor and she quite enjoyed her students. "No. I enjoy all my students." Hadley corrected. "Every student who has ever attempted Arithmancy. None more than the other. You two just happened to catch my eye as I was on my way to the staff table, and as you somehow sneaked a gift into my office, I had to come give my gratitude." Speaking of staff table, what was Jacob Blunt doing up there? He never visited the staff. Strange.
And speaking of other students leaving Hogwarts, there was Miss Bott and a rather tearful Lexi Denver. Why the latter was so emotional and sensitive, Hadley would never know nor understand. "Good evening, Miss Bott. Miss Denver."
She really should continue on up to the staff table . . .
