What could she possibly want. Nika was only half conscious of what she was doing and her anger was controlling her at this point. She looked back at Samira who looked confused by her rage and sighed, "Sorry I'm irritable right now." Due to current events.
Throughout Nika's mumblings Samira had added a few sound effects, but Nika never noticed. She hardly knew that her friend was even listening to her rant on about this mystery person. Then when Nika's ramblings had subsided long enough for her to say something she took the opportunity and Nika stopped to listen. "I don't even want to relive it! Emily made me angry, really angry." She took a few deep breaths and stabbed her broccoli some more, it was relaxing and fun at the same time. "She knew I was upset about her moving to France and she still made sure to rub it in my face! Then she has to go and joke about staying to make me feel even worse and UGH! The nerve. Well you know what I've had enough! I want to go home. I don't want to come back." Her face was starting to match the color of her hair as balled her hand up into a tight fist.
Samira drew back as if slapped. She narrowed her eyes a bit, masking her hurt. There was only one way to deal with this....
"Nika Rae Adler!" She said firmly, hoping to sound authoritative.
"You stop this right now, missy. I know you're irritable, and obviously upset, but you came here and if you want me to listen to talk to you I suggest you calm yourself down!" She took a deep breath and steadied Nika with a look. Hopefully this would make Nika snap out of it instead of getting even
more angry. That's what her mother always did to Samira when she was having a temper tantrum. It was true though, if Nika wanted to come and sit by her, then fine and dandy, but she needed to pull herself together. Samira didn't even know why she was being yelled at!
What what? Emily, as in the Emily that left Samira to deal with Nika's waterworks Emily that--as far as she knew---didn't even write?
"Emily's back?" She furrowed her eyebrows.
"Since when?!" Oh no. This wouldn't do.
Samira was Nika's best friend, and she intended to keep it that way.
