She took a sip from her drink and smirked. "I was researching France in the library before. It has a lot of historical places I'd like to visit. Educational." She didn't mean to try to wind Nika up. She just wanted to have some fun before she broke the news. She'd been misrable all year! She deserved to mess with her friend for a bit!
Nika looked down at her still empty plate and then at Emily's full one. It's okay though because suddenly she wasn't all that hungry. Though that didn't stop her thirst. Filling her water goblet once more she a big sip just in time to hear Emily talking about places she'd like to visit. Nika was caught in shock like a deer under headlights and spit out her water immediately. Heh heh...
Oops. "Sorry." She saw Emily's lips weren't in a frown any longer and instead they were smirking. Nika wasn't so sorry after all. If she was going to be mean and rub it in then she deserved that.
"You know Emily that's great for you, but right now I just want to eat." Then she looked back down to her
empty plate. Okay make that "just want to drink". She looked at her water goblet then sighed pushing that away as well. Nika looked around the table desperate to find someone else to talk to. This wasn't fair. Why was Nika always the one to be put into situations like this. Emily knew that this was upsetting her and yet she kept talking about it like she was rebuilding her new life there already, and she hadn't even moved yet!
