WELL. WELL.
WELL.
Who knew Ruby had
moves!? Certainly not Brae, who was just staring at the girl with brown eyes the size of China, with a sort of dazed fascination that often came from having one too many butterbeers. There was the silliest of lopsided grins on his butterbeer-mustached faced as he flailed about a bit, trying to keep his balance. It seemed like the floor and the table and the whole world was spinning, and just trying to stay on his feet was a challenge worthy of the Triwizard Tournament.
As Ruby continued singing, Braeden finished the line for her, "
I say no, you say yes, but you will change your mind…"
It applied, didn't it? Braeden thought they were perfectly normal friends, Ruby found the Goofball's friendship to be the weirdest, most odd thing on earth. But 'was it really so strange'?
Enough playing with the lyrics, though.
THERE WAS SOME DRAMA 'BOUT TO COOK UP IN HURR.
And it came in the form of a kiss.
Oh, yes. A kiss. Ruby Abigail Blair's lips on Braeden Goofball Stonem's.
And then the world ended.
Well, not really, but Braeden certainly felt like that's what should've happened at that moment. SERIOUSLY?! Ruby…
Ruby was… HIM?! But the boy's mind was too foggy to fully comprehend what was going on, and… Ruby's lips were just so soft, and she tasted and smelled like fresh butterbeer, and the song in their heads was just so great, and everyone else was just so blurry, and… and… He just couldn't help
the way that I feeeeel
himself.
But it didn't last very long because, just a fraction of a second after Ruby had kissed the big dork, he had lost his balance and slipped off the table, crashing onto the bench and then rolling off onto the floor, hitting his head in the process. Hard.
Oh, now the world
really was spinning. He couldn't see anything, the whole world and Ruby's bright red hair were all a blur. He looked up, blinked, saw nothing more than blurriness, and allowed his head to fall back onto the floor again with the stupidest of smiles on his face.
