He was now wishing his mother would have made him transfer to Hogwarts sooner than his fifth year but the past was the past and he just needed to enjoy this night. While she was waiting for Legend and Katie to look her direction, her hazel eyes wandered down the table toward two others of her graduating students. Merlin! She had quite a few students leaving this term! Granted that did mean one other thing; she would be getting new students next term. Sending a quick smile in their direction, she looked back toward the duo close by as the Badger spoke first. Quote:

Memories played quietly in her head, clips here and there that she had tried to push away and go on like this - this particular feast, - was no big deal. But it was, wasn't it? Tomorrow, she would be going home, and.. she would not be returning with Legend and Mat and Lando and Jae and the others. They wouldn't be coming back.
Her stomach knotted. Why she felt like this now, Katie didn't even know. She had hated this school during her first year, when there was that massive flooding from the lake and those two older students telling her their DADA teacher was a murderer, and worst of all she had been homesick. Somewhere along the lines.. Katie had become fond of Hogwarts, the great old castle and it's residents, and suddenly it hadn't seemed as bad as before. Somewhere along the lines, Katie had grown to care about the school and even some of the people. Maybe because of time, or maybe because of those few special professors and staff members who had been more of an influence to her than they could have known at the time, it still made this hard. It made leaving, and knowing she would not return ever again, hard. She would take her memories, but it wouldn't be the same.
A breath she hadn't known she had been holding left her, dark eyes coming back into view as Legend's voice interrupted her thoughts. Try as she might, Katie couldn't manage much more than a faint smile in return. She didn't have the energy to pretend it should be there. "Hey Leggy," Katie murmured back, almost automatically her gaze going to his hand and what it was wrapped around. For a brief moment, she thought about reaching over to grab his hand, and even started to before hesitating and letting it fall back to her side right as another voice addressed them.
Looking away from Legend's hand to see Professor Hadley there, suddenly made her chest feel heavy with emotions that she did her best to ignore. Stealing a glance at Legend and then back, Katie forced a slightly more real smile, turned in her seat so she could face her professor properly. It took her a moment to speak, but she found her voice. "You're.. welcome. Thank you, Professor. You've been.. so very kind to us, I.. can't-" what she couldn't do, was go on from there. Stopping short, Katie pressed her lips together and gave a little shake of her head. "Thank you, for the memories. I'll miss being part of your classroom." Always so honest and upfront; it was really little surprise that Katie was representative of the house of gold and black. Holding her strength up, she nodded curtly. "Thank you. I do my best, because well, in my experience, a little kindness goes a long way." Yes, that goes for you two and how you treat one another. "You're welcome though. And good luck to you." Quote:

Hadley.
He couldn't help but break out into a smile. A real one. "....Yeah! What Katie said. Now, tell us you love us and that we are your favorite students then you can be on your way." He smirked before elbowing Katie lightly in her side. Admit it Hadley! You had to! He would miss her always being on his case. ................ o.O
Even on his final night at Hogwarts, Legend Chosen was still being a smart aleck. And if she could have deducted rubies from the hourglass, then she totally would have! But she wasn't sure how much Tate would have appreciated her messing with the house points now that the feast had begun. Not to mention, it wouldn't have made any difference in the race. "Mister Chosen. If there is one thing that I hoped you learned from your time here at Hogwarts, then it is this: Respect. Respect yourself, respect your peers, respect authority." She said, collectedly. "Now I will say that I have enjoyed every student that I have ever taught . . ." Be it Arithmancy at Hogwarts or Charms down in South Africa.
