A stupid grin broke out over her features...and once again she was grateful for the darkness. Taking another minute or two to calm the spike in her heart, Marilyn sighed. "Are you being completely serious right now?"

Her heart felt strange in her chest, making weird palpations. If Carter was playing with her right now...she'd hurt him.

"Or having you alone in general." Carter said with a smile. "What can I say, I enjoy being in good company. And having said company all to myself makes it even better." He gave Marilyn a playful little nudge.

He smiled. "Completely." he said. Plus, it wasn't really his style to joke about such things. "I just think things feel..." Too right to be wrong? Like they shouldn't have ended? Like there was a reason things didn't work out with Marie or Caroline? He wasn't about to use a dumb cliche.

He turned to face her. The view from his lit wand had never looked so good. Marilyn looked as beautiful as ever, despite the limited blue-hued lighting. He immediately lost his train of thought. In fact, all that was on his mind was her and how he felt that there was way too much space between the two of them despite him currently having his arm around her.

Way. Too. Much. And he wanted nothing more than that to change.
