"Well... I mean... you're enjoying this right?" he asked. "I mean, spending time together." And not necessarily in abandoned corridors. He felt a slight pang of guilt. He was sure that this is not what Rafe had in mind when he asked Carter to watch after Marilyn. But then again, they were broken up. That meant Marilyn was free to pursue other Gryffindors, right? And by other Gryffindors, Carter was of course referring to himself.
He ran a hand through his hair. "I'm not saying that there has to be anything official or anything... I'm sure your faith in guys isn't the strongest at the moment..." He was rambling.
"You know how you told me that you weren't over me yet...?" he asked. "What would you say if I told you that I didn't want you to be?"
Marilyn smirked when he said the part about not taking advantage of her...She thought that Carter had to be the only teenage male in existence who'd ever even uttered those words.
"The situation? You mean having me all to yourself in this dark, deserted nook." Because Carter wasn't able to see her face, the blonde could disguise her voice as light and playful...when in reality she was desperately hanging on his every word.
There was a strange silence growing in the small, confinded area...as Marilyn fully took in everything Carter was saying.

That had to mean that...he wasn't over her yet, either.
A stupid grin broke out over her features...and once again she was grateful for the darkness. Taking another minute or two to calm the spike in her heart, Marilyn sighed.
"Are you being completely serious right now?"
Her heart felt strange in her chest, making weird palpations. If Carter was playing with her right now...she'd
hurt him.
