Heeeey! He was sort of smiling, that was so nice and refreshing to see! "It's finally great to know you consider me one as well," now he didn't have to tell Nessie what he had before. If she ever asked again, then he could say they were friends.

He wasn't expecting that. AT ALL. So, his eyes opened wide when he mentioned who it was, the girl, Isobel. "But she's not seeing anyone, I think," not that he would've known, but they were together in the Yearbook as well, so, he would've heard something, no?

"I guess I'm not all that sure if they're together," he said, regarding on if he was certain Isobel was dating another person. Usually things like sharing a kiss in hushed corners had to mean something. Then again, Damien was completely clueless when it came to matters such as these. Who was he to say he knew everything? He certainly didn't.

His head was shaking back and fourth now. "Impossible," he said. "She's a friend, plain and simiple -- I've never thought of any girl more than a friend." As mentioned before, this particular Hufflepuff wasn't acquainted with too many girls at Hogwarts, but it was still impossible.

Still, Damien felt happy that he was able to have this conversastion with Treyen, the two boys declaring their bond of friendship. It'll be nice having him around the next two years at school. A true ally.

And then the statement that Isobel wasn't dating anyone perked his ears up, and he looked at his companion with one raised eyebrow. "You're sure ..." he let that question fade off. Hold on just one second, why was this such a concern of Damien's? "She never mentioned anyone to me either, but I figured she was just being nice -- a gentle uhm -- rejection if you will. We don't even have that much in common, other than being able to carry on conversations so why would it matter to me if she had a boyfriend or not?!"

That last part came out a little louder than Damien had expected. He wasn't even expecting to say the words of the last sentence, and yet they spluttered out. Could it be true? Of course Damien had feelings for Isobel -- he probably felt it not too long after they were first introduced. But these feelings --

He sighed heavily, tilting back on his chair and lacing his hands behind his neck. Realizing perhaps -- for the first time what those feelings for Isobel meant.
