But when his voice then reached her ears and her face snapped back down to look him in the eyes. He looked so lost and confused, but what puzzled Selina was that he seemed to have no idea where he was and what was happening to him. She looked at Sophie briefly as if trying to translate to the older girl- how do I explain this, but his eyes were on her and she knew that he was asking her.

"Well you see, I really don't know. You've been acting odd for a really long time now, but it only started to get really odd a few weeks ago. You see... you were at the lake and you and Jacob threw Simon into the water and were kind of being really mean. After that you acted differently and a couple other people and you spoke like pirates.. all the time. I passed it off as nothing, but I guess that was stupid of me. Then just now you said that you were Sherman and Vindictus was your Captain and you were attacking people in the Flying exam and then there was this mist and now you're here... and your okay."

That last sentence made Selina feel really good. He was okay... no more odd Simon. That one scared her.

Although she knew she wasn't being spoken directly to, Sierra couldn't help but listen in on what Selina was telling Simon. Later on, when she wasn't feeling so terrible and maybe even embarrassed, too, she might find Selina and see if the girl knew anything about how she'd acted, as well. It made her uneasy, though, imagining what happened.

Do you remember coming out here to the pitch?" Being focused on her studies, being sick with flu and her prefect duties had isolated her from what had been going on. So if the young snake she would have no good answer.

"The last thing I remember," Sierra answered, turning back to Sophie, "is being knocked back onto the ground and seeing the blue mist." She shrugged. "Have I been out here the whole time? In this class, I mean." She felt more vulnerable now than she'd ever felt before, and she could only hope that the prefects' attention toward her was sympathy and not for entertainment purposes. "I'm not feeling well," she said. "I'm going to put up a few brooms and then head back to the castle."

As she started to walk away, she turned back to both Treyen and Sophie. "Thanks," she said with a small smile.

It's obvious that Professor Vindictus isn't in the best shape to continue with the lesson and has realized that something is wrong with his broomsticks.

Return the brooms and sort them into three (3) different piles - destroyed, damaged (but fixable), and undamaged. When placing your broom in the pile, please describe the broom (is the handle broken? tail twigs burnt off? etc.) and how it performed for you in the air (was it wobbly? did you soar higher than intended? etc.) The more descriptive you are regarding the broom's condition, the more points you can receive (I'm looking at the quality of the post versus how many posts you made).

It's perfectly acceptable to be interacting with others as you complete this task - this choice is yours. Once you have returned your broom, you are free to leave the lesson.

This thread will be closed at 11pm EST tomorrow (Thursday).

Sierra picked up the first broom she came to. It looked pretty decent, and so she carried it over to the pile of brooms that didn't seem to have any damage whatsoever. She had no idea who'd been on it. She had just come to--apparently having been possessed or something, the same as Simon and maybe a few others, too--so she had no idea who'd been on what broom. She didn't even know what broom she'd been on. Nevertheless, she took a few careful looks around the broom she was holding. It wasn't the best model, nor did she imagine it was purchased recently, but she knew enough about Quidditch to see that this broom was still in good riding condition. The twigs were in line and the broom stick was still sturdy. Yup, into the undamaged pile it went.

She turned around and picked up the next nearest broom. It was damaged, but fixable, she thought. A few of the tail twigs were bent upward and facing in all different directions, but it didn't seem like anything a good Broomstick Serving Kit couldn't take care of. She looked at the handle, noticing that it looked scratched, but it wasn't terribly bad. It was nothing some polish couldn't take care of. She walked a few feet to the left and dropped it carefully into the stack of damaged, yet fixable, brooms. Yup. That was the best place for it. Death hadn't met the broom just yet.

One more turn and a few walks forward lead her to a broom that had clearly met its end. It wasn't even in one piece anymore. It was in three pieces. The handle was cracked in half, and the twigs were laying in a spot by themselves a foot away from the two pieces of the handle. Sierra bent down by the broom and started gathering the pieces together. From what she'd heard from Kurumi and Sophie, she wondered if this was the broom she'd been on. They'd said she'd done some pretty crazy things while out of it, such as casting Aguamenti up in the air and apparently showering everyone. She scooped up the remaining pieces of twigs and carried them and the pieces of the handle to the stack of brooms that were clearly destroyed.
