I understand Abi being upset, but I don't condone drinking, and it's a shame Abi has a favorite place like this to go to to drown her sorrows. You write it very well, and I won't say anymore against it.

This is so sad. I can picture this in my mind, and I think she isn't saying that Alfie is better than her, but just that he deserves someone who loves him the way he loves her. She didn't (or maybe she thought she didn't) so it is best for him they didn't get married.
