Evan turned with hope to see Mina there, but instead he backed off a little upon seeing Matty. The guy was still the protagonist of his nightmares... and with a flashback, he also remembered that he would like to punch him someday. With that, he took another few steps back and hoped his badge was visible somewhere. See Matty? Punching a prefect is BAD!

"Hi," he greeted back shortly. This was the first time they were ever talking, and he didn't think any other closeness was necessary, save for being polite. That, Evan never forgot.

...any better? Since what? "Yeah, I'm fine," he said slowly, frowning as the question sounded quite out of the place. Did he know it had been him in Marie's form? Hopefully not, and he couldn't risk asking now.
