Braeden, she thought. And the blonde began to take a big deep breath slowly to stop herself from getting worked up. He wanted her to listen!? No, she wouldn't.... No one threw a pie at his face and got away with it. NO ONE DID! And no one messed with Emma Malfoy when she was angry or she'd hex them. Yes, so the five foot six blonde had a problem with her temper. The blonde folded her arms, sighed, and gave him the: 'I'm listening' look. Okay Brae.
But before Braeden was going to explain the whole thing, he rambled on, and ended up introducing Charlie to Emma. "We've already met. At the Lake," added Emma, keeping her voice a normal level. No, someone throwing a pie at her boyfriend was so not going to make her mad. Sarcasm there. Clearly, Emma was annoyed. And then her brown eyes grew bigger as Braeden explained that Charlie was his ex-girlfriend. OH MERLIN'S BEARD.
O.o What had Emma gotten herself into? Always Rushing into things to save Braeden, and in the end, she got told off. Now this was awkward. Well kind of. It reminded her of last term when Ellie, Alex, and her met up by accident in the Pathways. That ended badly. The blonde started to feel a little sick. Sick with worry that, it would end up the same way as the Pathways incident. Please, Merlin's Beard. Please No. She averted her eyes from the scene, she couldn't bare to look at either of them. So she had over-reacted.. once again.
Coming back to look at both of them, Emma bit her lip and fidgeted with her snake bracelet. What could she do to stop the awkward-ness? Emma quickly glanced at Braeden, giving him an uneasy smile, clearly to show him how she felt about the whole thing. Awkward. Why did Braeden always get himself in these situations again? "It seems that I owe you both an apology. I'm sorry for over-reacting back there..." she said, before looking down at her bracelet, then over at the Slytherin table, and then back at them. The blonde took a step back. Maybe.. she should get going? This was.. awkward.

As Braeden began to introduce them, Charlie echoed Emma, "Yeah. Met. Lake. Right." Girlfriend. Hmm. This is the girl that has now captured the Lion Cub's heart. Smiling at her for a second before confusion washed over her face for what felt like the thirtieth time today. Nodding at Emma for the apology, Char turned to Braeden, "Hold on Emma. Braeden, what is going on?! I'm happy you got a girlfriend, honest. But to tell me like that? I thought we were at least friends. And as an ex you would tell me when we saw each other, not as you're leaving and need an excuse to duck out of a conversation." Charlie looked between Emma and Braeden hoping that they would understand what had her so upset. This stupid day was turning out way more confusing then it should have been. Darn Finals. This is more headache then I can deal with. Pinching the bridge of her nose, Charlie sighed before staring at Braeden pleadingly to tell her what's going on.
Braeden watched as Emma seemed to shrink right before his eyes. She'd walked in with so much force, now as that determination to hex someone's head off began to fade away, the girl seemed to grow smaller and more timid. Feeling a little guilty for Emma's embarrassment, Braeden took the girl's hand (hoping she wouldn't mind it was covered in apple pie from when he'd wiped it off his face earlier), and pulled her a little closer just after she'd taken a couple steps back. He didn't want her to feel like a third wheel or something.
The Gryffindork gave her a small, brief smile and listened with raised eyebrows as both blondes confirmed that they had already met. Oh? He wondered how that had gone… what if they had become friends and he'd just ruined it!? Oh, if they could become friends that would be
great!
Wait, actually, no… if they became close friends, they would talk about him and make fun of whatever unique little clumsy things he did that they'd noticed! What if they started making fun of how he kissed or something!?

Talk about embarrassing.
Either way. He had to explain what was going on. He couldn't have Charlie hate him forever and continue wasting perfectly good apple pie. The poor elves had worked hard on that food, y'know!
"Oh, right," muttered Braeden as Charlie asked he explain what was going on. "I think… I think the person you talked to wasn't me, Char," he began slowly, trying to build up his sentences in his head before spilling them out. He wanted to make sense, and making sense was a little difficult for someone with such a scattered mind. "See, the thing is… For our potions final, Theo and I polyjuiced into each other, and… Well, I think the Braeden that you spoke to earlier was
him, not me. You know I'd never say something like that to you so carelessly…" he continued, hoping dearly that Charlie would believe him. He couldn't lose her as a friend; and, worse yet, leave her thinking of him as some insensitive jerk with no consideration for others' feelings.
"Either way, I'm sorry you had to hear it like that... I was going to tell you, but I got distracted just catching up with you," he added. Which was true.
