"No... I didn't," she said in a resigned voice, she wasn't happy with her efforts, she had failed. And in real life... on the job... out there, if she failed, that was it. No one would be able to save her.
Something stirred in her, some deep emotion... it wasn't anger, but it was powerful... and it wasn't happiness, but it was pure... it was grattitude.
"Don't be sorry... this is what I need... I needed this..." she brushed some of her hair of her face.
"This is exactly... what I needed. Its the only way I'll learn..." She was really eternally grateful, sort of. Though she wasn't about to go handing out balloons to everyone that decided to curse her.
A drink? Merlin she could go for a firewhiskey.
"Don't happen to have any on you now do you?" she asked... it would help with the pain relief.
Brad smiled at her last response and leant over to pick up his wand. With one simple wave and a non verbal spell, two glasses of butterbeer appeared. Smiling to himself he took hold of one and handed it to a shaking Emily and took the second for himself.
"Let's start off small shall we? You never know we might end up dueling again soon..." He smiled as he took a sip of his drink and groaned silently with pleasure. He really did need that drink, it helped his suddenly dry throat. After a few more sips he found himself half way through his drink, meaning to make his last for a while he placed it on the stone floor beside him with a click.
He knew he shouldn't say sorry again, well he didn't, but that didn't stop him from thinking it. Even after Emily had told him it was alright, saying it was the way to learn. Didn't help his thoughts though, they were going round in a whirlwind...Thinking about what he could say he noticed the women before him tuck some hair behind her ear. Without thinking he extended his arm and brushed the strands of hair she had missed, with a gentle stroke her placed them behind her ear before saying,
"You sure your alright?" He hand stayed where it was a moment longer before he let it drop...
