Then he turned back to face Evelyn when she spoke, blinking at her. Well...what she had said did make sense. It was just something written in a book. It did not mean it was certain that it was going to happen. Plus those were possibly some generalised meanings for the letters. But...
...but then he remembered what Hadley had told him. ''What if...'' so he began pausing for a moment to take a quick breath in ''What if it is like what Hadley told me about my Heart's Desire Number. Well...like...it is present in you but you don't know or can't see it...yet?''
Hmmm, was he okay with that? She certainly didn't think anyone should make a big deal about these numbers. Even if she did enjoy calculating them and reading what they said, she didn't really take them so seriously.
Josh did though she supposed, and his reasoning was...she had to suppress the snort.
"Josh, there isn't some part of me waiting to burst forward and go tackle the next five guys I see. These numbers aren't our fate. They're just something some bored person who had no life wrote." She did try to keep her voice down low so Hadley wouldn't hear, because she was pretty sure the Professor would disagree whole heartily. She herself kinda did too.
Taking his hand, she started to walk around him so she could move them more towards the door.
"Besides, why would you listen to something that says you'll eventually lose me?" Merlin.
