He looked at Rufin, and some of the passion with which he spoke finally met his eyes, though his expression was otherwise still unreadable.
"When you enter a garden, you are not just looking at a bunch of pretty flowers. You are looking at time, dedication, love, and care. Every blossom is a testament to the heart of the person who planted and cared for it until it became this thing of glory. These... unnatural things, are made for a party or a show. But to fill this corridor with real plants and blossoms will bring to it the warmth of every heart that is willing to care for them." "But don't you see? Man made things can be beautiful too! Especially magically made things. This is wonderful. There is beauty in everything!" Rufin fingered the little sparkling pendant in his pocket that his niece had given to him. He saw how important this was to the other man just from his words rather than his expression and tried to explain his own feelings. "When I conjured these flowers I really cared what they turned out like and just because they bloomed faster doesn't mean they're any less beautiful. There is every chance to fill the rest of this corridor with natural beauty but we should bring every kind of beauty into everything we can." Rufin ruffled his hair absentmindedly, he really disliked conflict, even little disagreements like this.
