"Now, if it's a serious physical injury, maybe using ingredients from the Befuddlement Draught or the Draught of the Living Death such as Valerian roots or lovage could help turn the draught into an anaesthetic as well." "Indeed, good." She said. Quote:

It's because because people demand too much of it's horns.
Next question.
Jonathan carefully recalled the ingredients that were called out. "Aconite" he said "is known by it's other names as wolfsbane and monkshood" that he is sure of. He heard his father said that once "Aconite is a common ingredient for Wolfsbane potion" obviously. "That potion can be able to ease or reduce symptoms of" what was the animal or creature again? Jonathan thought... "... Lycanthropy or werewolf"
Ohhh he should also think of something creative and create his own potion... Hmmmm... He looked at his parchment and tried recalling which ingredient belonged to which potion... "Yes, wolfsbane potion is a complex one to make... but we do have most of the ingredients on the grounds." She said. Quote:

From what she could see on the list and what she could remember... "You could probably make some sort of calming potion." Probably not THE calming potion, but something similar. Hmm, like tea. "Yes, good." She replied. Quote:

Simon smiled, well he was just answer the question and he couldn't think what the potion was called. Her eyes narrowed at the boy. "Five points for cheek. Talk about that again and your house will hate you." Quote:

"You could make the Confounding Concoction, professor," Ryden said as she eyed the list of ingredients. It was the first thing that came to her mind that contained all of the ingredients. But why were there no ingredients in the storeroom again? Something about a fire?
She'd have to ask Koala Boy sometime. "You could indeed." She said Quote:

Of course, it wouldn't be as good as it had to be because certain ingredients were missing, but it would still work to a certain level. "Daisy roots, snake fang powder, nettles, asphodel, and bezoars, and caterpillar cocoons are common ingredients in the potion." The ingredients necessary to brew it weren't rare, but the brewing process was extremely difficult and only potion experts could achieve the perfect result. Everything else worked as a mere energy booster, which didn't last for very long. "Very good, Master Uronen..." She said nodding. Quote:

Whoa, that was a long list. At mandrakes, he raised his hand. "Mandrake Restorative Draught, professor," he offered, definitely too lazy to check the rest of the list for a more creative potion. "Yes, that is a good one." She told the girl. Quote:

Lost in his thoughts, he shook his head to clear away his distracting thoughts and raised his hand. "Well dittany is used for healing, right? So you could make some sort of healing potion with that, I'm assuming," he explained. "It is... and yes healing potions are made with commonly found ingredients." she told him. Quote:
Originally Posted by AuroraQuinn Aurora nodded, "Yes, we saw it in her lesson." she confirmed.
Aurora frowned a little with concentration. "You could make a Silvertongue Draught." she said, grinning. It was such a cool potion an had got her out of many tight places... She nodded. Quote:

Her dad had always used peppermint tea to cover the taste of nasty healing potions. "It can, Miss Black, but that doesn't answer my question." She said. Quote:

If you stir in beetle's eyes in the opposite direction as your last stir, it can offset problems caused if you accidentally stirred too many times. And... tubeworms sliced the right way can be used to counteract complications created by heating your potion on a setting that lower than you should have."
She opened her eyes, then, smiling. That's right, isn't it? "Yes, but that doesn't answer the question I asked." She said. Quote:

What in the name of Merlin was the pronunciation of that potion again? She lowered her hand and looked from her notes to Professor Lafay then back again. He thought of Moondew, but he could not remember if that could be found on the Hogwarts Grounds, and he was hesitant in remembering which potion it was used for. After a few moments, however, he figured he might as well say something than nothing at all. Sighing, he raised his hand into the air.
"Professor, I believe you can find Moondew in the Forbidden Forest. It is an ingredient found in the Wiggenweld Potion as well as Draught of Living Death, I think." He wished he could remember more of what he'd learned last term. He lowered his hand, hoping his answer could suffice in some sort of manner. "Very good." She said to the boy. Quote:

Still, eagles had exceptional eye-sight, and their feathers were light and airy and could perhaps provide swiftness to a potion...
Kurumi's train of thought continued as Professor Lafay asked her next question and her eyes scanned the ingredients on the board again. "Using eagle owl feathers, bat eyes, cat whiskers, finely chopped hellebore, and peppermint one could make the Optics Draft. It enhances the drinker's vision, especially in dark places or at night. owl eyes and cat whiskers are also easily attainable on the Hogwarts grounds." "Excellent Miss Hollingberry." She said. Quote:

She screwed up her nose at the thought. "Yes. Gross, but yes." She said. Quote:

He crossed off a few things on his parchment and began scribbling again. After a few moments, he grinned at his handiwork and his hand shot into the air.
"Professor," he said, smiling. "If you were to mix Dittany with Snake Fangs, Hellebore, and stewed Mandrake, you could make a powerful reviving potion, couldn't you?" He was almost sure he was correct, but Potions was not one of Roderigo's best fortes. "Yes, you could." She said. Quote:

Maybe if she got lucky it would actually be a real potion. "I bet if we mix all of the ingredients together it would make one nasty killing potion or something..." She said with a shrug. Hey it could work? "What is it with this idea of killing? Just because you fail at potion, poisoning people is not a success. Five points from you as well." She said. Quote:

It was a lesser known recipe, simple as it was. Maybe because noone bothers to collect a mother's tears... "Don't forget catnip..." she said. "Essential." Quote:

"Very good." She repeated "All of you."
"Homework." She said taking a breath. "Worth 15 points." She said. "You are to go out on the grounds and retrieve five of the ingredients mentioned or even some you find along he way. Then return them to the stores by our next class. I am counting on you. I intend to have us brew in our next class... so do well. Dismissed." ooc: This class was shorter than my usual classes because it's worth a few less points. By doing so, my homework is worth more (15 points.) To receive points I need to see a MINIMUM of 6 total posts: 5 on the grounds somewhere retrieving the five potion ingredients, one in the open potions stores leaving off your potions followed by a PM with user id and the links. Due two weeks from this post.
