It was almost too much for him. But he couldn't help but smile. After all he had been through, it was nice to be able to smile again.

It was odd how fast the year seemd to be going by. It felt like just a moment ago, it was October. Suddenly November had gone and passed, and December; Unlike the last year, she had gone home for the holidays to be with her family and Legend's, and of course it had been more than worth it. Going home was a very needed escape from classes, homework, NEWT preparations, from thinking about how quickly time was passing and how Orlando and Danny would handle being the last two of their group left at Hogwarts. Katie already knew, Lando was not happy about it. And now, now it was January. Another month gone by too soon. Another month Katie was not ready to leave behind just yet.

Tugging at one end of her scarf as she adjusted it, the red fabric soft against her cold hand, Katie dropped her hand back into her coat pocket and continued to walk through the courtyard slowly, no Nova thumping along in front of her this time. Few students were around, and even if there were more, Katie surely wouldn't have missed the young boy sitting on his own off in the deserted corner of the couryard. A small, warm smile appeared on her lips at the sight, and her feet quickly changed course to guide her toward him. The faint sound of snow crunching beneath her shoes was probably the only sound that came from her before reaching the sixth year and without a single word uttered, carefully sunk down into the snow beside him on the ground and leaned her back against the cold stone wall. "Hey Danny," Katie greeted quietly, a soft voice reserved for her cousin's sake. He looked a bit lost in thought at the moment, and she had recently come to know the feeling.
