Ad looked down and her arms fell from Justin's neck to her sides as she bit her lip. Great. Now she'd done it. "I-I-I'm sorry if I upset you..." she said softly. She looked up slightly. "Dad's birthday was March second" she said softly.
Ad shook her head a little and slid off the rock, wading into the water a little. She stood in the middle of the lake, hugging herself. She looked up, the moon shining brightly on her face as she tried to hide the tears.
Justin looked at Ad and shook his head.
"No you didn't upset me. I upset myself" he told her. Then he looked down.
"How am I not a constant reminder that he's not here?" he asked putting one hand on the back of his neck.
He slid off the rock and walked over to Ad, putting his arms around her from behind.
"Hey, don't cry. You're gonna make me cry" he told her trying to make her giggle.
