Before Armen was able to pick up another stack of memos to work on, a knock was heard on his door frame and he looked up. Since he had left the door propped open he saw it was a witch with some files in her arm that was completely unfamiliar to him and was obviously not one of his employees. "Ah you must be Miss Ward, from level one? Come on in and take a seat!" he said turned to retrieve a folder from a table behind him. The woman nodded her head once in acknowledgement as she walked over the threshold into the office. Taking a quick glance around the room she was impressed with his office furniture, it was manly, powerful, impressive and it looked like an office should. That thought however was immediately interrupted when she noticed a 3-wheeled thing hanging from the ceiling. That’s when she looked closer at her surroundings. Wow. Hoard much?! Talk about clutter.
Bringing her eyes back to Mr. Recard she held out her hand, ”Pleasure to meet you sir.” And here is where she struggled, small talk or no small talk?! Sure in most conversations with most people it was customary but she really wasn’t a small talk kind of person. Medea Ward was more of a straight to the point kind of person. On the other hand the woman was vying for a promotion, she wanted power. More power than the position of Internal Liaison Supervisor could grant her anyways. The woman wasn’t ungrateful of the opportunity, just hungry for more. Being nice, friendly and warm might get her further.
Eh… small talk it is.
Gesturing to 3-wheeled thing dangling from the ceiling, ”May I ask what that is?” The woman tried to come off sincere and genuine, not sure that she had succeeded though. One thing she knew for sure, it had to be Muggle-made.
There was one thing Medea hated more than a weak-willed individual, and that was a Muggle. She wouldn’t show it though, nope. If she wanted power someday she’d have to pretend to at least tolerate Muggles. Isn’t that how politics work?! |
