It wasn't hard to notice that Simon's words and actions had struck a nerve but he wasn't paying too much attention or at least worry to it. The feelings he got when around the other boy present once more so he was acting out on them. "Of course," he replied with a shake of his head as if thinking his answer obvious. "Did ya hear about the one who killed a shark just by hugging it?" he asked trying to see what his companion knew about one of the stories he knew of.

He nearly swatted Jacob's hand away as the Ravenclaw held it out again for him to hand over the captain's hat once more. Simon did however roll his eyes when he said he was too busy for a little fun. Geez was this how Josh felt he himself acted when he tended to be all responsible and such?

"Well if tis Vindictus who wants it, I can sure give it to him myself," Simon said feeling that if anyone, the man deserved the hat seeing as he had been wearing it when they both had been the first to step on board the ship. The Gryffindor turning and bringing the hat back in front of him before heading towards the gang plank to do just that.
