New post?
Emily and Draco were walking around the grounds a few days before the term ended, trying to enjoy the sunshine. Emily watched as Harry walked away from Hagrid’s Hut and across the lawn. She stopped in her tracks while Draco pulled her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. He let it go suddenly and she looked at him with her eyebrow quirked.
“He needs someone to talk to… And I know you need to talk to him. Go, I’ll see you later,” he whispered as he kissed her forehead lightly. Emily gave him a grateful smile before following after Harry.
“Harry!” she said loudly, trying to get his attention, but he seemed to be ignoring everyone who called on him. She sighed as she followed him around the lake. He sat down on the bank, behind some shrubbery. Emily hesitated before flopping down beside him. He glanced at her once before returning to stare out at the water.
Emily slowly reached over and grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers as she rested her head on his shoulder. Her eyes pooled with tears as they sat there in silence, thinking about who they’d lost and how their lives were about to change drastically.
“He loved you,” Emily whispered hoarsely after an hour or so of silence.
“Like you were his own,” she added.
“You were his own,” Harry murmured quietly. Emily sniffled as she nodded against his shoulder.
“It’s not your fault,” Emily whispered.
“Yes it is… If I had just listened to Hermione. If I hadn’t went…” Harry whispered.
“It still wasn’t your fault, Harry,” Emily persisted.
“It wasn’t your fault either, Ems,” Harry replied.
They stayed quiet for the longest time again as the sun slowly faded and they started getting cold.
“C’mon, let’s go in before the others worry,” Emily murmured as she stood up, bringing him with her.
When they made it into the school, Emily made to turn left while Harry went to turn right. He looked at her in confusion for a minute.
“I’m going to meet Draco,” she explained. He nodded before continuing on his way.
“I was beginning to think you were going to stand me up,” Draco smirked from the corner of their dungeon. Emily quickly closed the door behind her and snuggled up into his side.
“Never,” she smiled as he kissed her hair.
“Good to know,” he chuckled.
“How’s Harry?” he asked after a little while.
“As to be expected,” Emily murmured as she buried her face in his neck. He hugged her more tightly as she tangled their legs together.
“Do you think he’ll forgive me?” Emily whispered.
“Who? Harry?” Draco asked.
“No… Remus,” Emily mumbled.
“Yes,” Draco answered almost immediately.
“It will be fine,” he whispered. Emily nodded slowly as her eyes slid shut.
Emily and Draco ate in silence the next morning at the Gryffindor table, close to where Jamie and Alicia were sitting. After breakfast, they returned to their separate Common Rooms to pack up their things. Alicia walked in, knocking lightly on the door.
“Almost finished?” she whispered.
“Nearly,” Emily answered quietly.
“There’s something I need to tell you…” Alicia started as she sat down at the end of Emily’s bed. Emily narrowed her eyes before sitting beside her.
“Proceed.” TAG!
