Ohh, fairy tales! Vashti had always liked those when she was little, particularly the Disney film adaptations, and several years ago she'd actually looked up the originals to see how different from the adaptations they were. Very different, they turned out to be ~~and she still liked the Disney versions way better~~. Who knew any of that would actually come in handy for a lesson?

"There's one version of Sleeping Beauty," she began with a raised hand, "where the evil fairy doesn't turn herself into a dragon. She only disguises - transfigures, probably - herself into an old woman, in order to trick the princess into pricking her finger to fulfill a curse she placed on the princess when she was born. There are also a couple other fairies who're supposed to be good and who try to reverse the curse. None of them really behave like the creatures we know as fairies though. Maybe the person who came up with the story had a run-in with a couple of witches, some that were good and another that wasn't, and based the characters on them, except the storyteller decided to refer to them as 'fairies' rather than 'witches' since it seems witches were almost always portrayed as evil in Muggle stories hundreds of years ago. Perhaps he didn't think anyone would like the story if there were any good witches in it."
