Hufflepuffs were funny people. The odd kind of funny. You know the relative at the family dinner you just pet on the head when they do something completely dumb and you tell them they're precious? That's what Hufflepuffs reminded Elise of. She took Salamandrius' elbow and nodded. "Of course. Do you have a nickname? Salamandrius is quite a long name and most people with long names have nicknames. Thankfully I was given a short name, no nickname needed." Oh but you could shorten practically any name if you tried hard enough. Elise was a bit harder to shorten though. Someone once made the mistake of calling her Ellie when she first started school. Needless to say that was how Elise received her first detention.
