Sir? Oakey asked the Pirate Captain again in his regular voice. Can I be the ships navigator? I really want to figure out these maps, If they mean anything that is.
"Investigate!" Vindictus replied as he left the cabin.
"Just be careful!" Quote:

He just wasn't about to do or say something he'd regret so he kept his expression calm.
"It shouldn't be too far, though with all thats scattered around, the seams of the opening are blurred," he mused turning to better face the open deck again, wondering where to start looking. For all they knew some of the ropes and such could have been deliberately placed to hide its local from explorers or robbers.
Now up on deck, Vindictus was able to see (once again) that the deck was littered with debris.
"Whatever you do, just be careful. It doesn't hurt to prod things with your wand before touching." Quote:

Jacob easily walked to the deck. And saw several people above deck. Jacob drew his sword from it's holster.
"Alright! I'm taking over this here ship! If Y'all have any objections or questions, my sword is more than happy to take a message."
In other words, questions were highly discouraged, with the risk of lost limbs.

Oh crap! Was that Vindictus?
Ooops.
"I'm the one wearing the hat, so I'm in charge Jacob," Vindictus responded and swaggered over to the Ravenclaw captain.
"And be careful with that sword of yours - you'll poke someone's eye out. . . or worse."
He was about to say something else when a Slytherin totally lost it in rather un-Slytherinlike style.
"No one is doomed!" he bellowed.
"Explore the ship - that's an order!"
