She said nothing, but gave him a look of "take it easy".
Kana gave Louisa a smile "Pleasure". Wether or not it really WAS a pleasure reamined to be seen, but she didn't want to seem rude. She gave a small laugh and glanced at Kit, who was now sitting up in her lap, feeling a little less scared. "Oh, I'd say she can handle herself. She's small, but she's wiry, and knows how to hide. Don't you, Kit?", she asked in a knowing tone. The ferret hid her face behind her tail again.
Kana looked back up, "But I'd keep an eye on your jewelry. She dosen't mean any harm, but she's a little thief. She'll snatch quills, envelopes, pens, money. I usually find her hiding places, but she's sneaky." She thought it best to warn as many people as possible, so that when things went missing, they'd know who to ask. Quote:

After a minute of thinking, she decided that the reply would only make her mad. " Don't answer that." And she continued in a bitter tone, " Besides, I told you my cat isn't here.. as in Hogwarts." The image of her unconscious and tailless cat popped in her head and made her flinch.
Her attention turned back to the girl who was more polite.. though she was the owner of the ra- ferret! Why was it a big deal that she confused a ferret with a rat, anyway? Not that any of them looked pleasant. Heh.
Oh and now she was a jewelery thief? Louisa's eyes widened. " I have to hide all that? Well you might consider to lock her up or something.." She didn't suggest the inevitable; Return the pet to the shop. " ..Seems an easier way than warning a castle with thousands of students about a thief." The sarcasm wasn't hidden in her tone and she really found the idea of locking her up amusing. Quote:

Just for that, she'd probably encourage Kit to snatch one or two of her things. Just out of spite. But she quickly mentally composed herself by reaching back down to her quill, leaning over Kit. "Well...", she started, sucking her lips together for a brief moment. "That's what her cage is for," she replied with a smile. A faked smile. But a smile nonetheless.
She continued scribbling away at her letter. If this girl didn't like ferrets, she wondered how she'd react to a pigeon... Noel didn't answer Louisa's question of exactly what he meant by her cat being similar to her - that would have only caused more problems. He did, though catch a look of sadness about the older girl when she mentioned that her cat wasn't there... had something happened? Well, she obviously did care about animals if she looked like that at the memory of her cat, so maybe she wasn't that bad. Just maybe. "Why isn't he or she here?" he asked tentatively, wondering if he'd even get an answer.
He stroked Rogue's head thoughtfully as he leaned on the desk at which Kana continued to write her letter, glancing at Louisa to see if she'd answer. Although her comment about locking Kit up, well... that was going a bit far, he thought. Didn't girls keep their jewellery in boxes and things anyway? Besides, a pet wasn't a machine but a living thing for heaven's sake, you couldn't just control it!
For instance, he couldn't control Rogue when the owl decided it wanted to take a quick flight around the common room. Or when it decided to swoop low over some of the students' heads, so low he'd accidentally ruffle their hair when flying overhead. Or that one of those students just happened to be Louisa. He had absolutely no control over that, although he didn't find it a bit difficult to keep a straight face when Rogue landed back on his shoulder.
He wondered what would happen once Kana revealed she also had a pigeon...
