BEST REACTION EVER!
Except that he liked his foot THANK YOU!
Another yelp. Another bit of hoping, this time a few paces away from the dangerous child. "I'm telling the truth!" He ATTEMPTED a bit more seriousness. "How else was I supposed to prepare you? Now, you will always be on guard for that ghost. But hey, if you don't want to know something that will keep you safe, then that's your prerogative." "Yeah right." Hateya kept glaring at him, fighting very hard to resist the temptation to kick him again. Very hard. "If you had any brains in your head, you'd have already read Hogwarts: A History and know all the castle's ghosts, and that's not one of them!"
The closest it got was Peeves, thank you very much, and she didn't think he'd go quite so far as to attempt an addition to the ghost brigade.
Plus, it wasn't like she, herself, had read the book. Just listened in while one of her friends read it. At the end of the day it was the same thing, right?
She realized that he'd pushed her buttons, and stuck her little nose in the air, informing him quite loftily, "You're a cowardly, stupid liar. And I'm telling all the older girls I meet." Since older girls were into dating and giggling about boys, it seemed fair to warn them. |
