His was a second year, and still the knocker had it out for him. Apparently it didn't like simple straightforward answers. It liked an explanation of his logic too. Which really wasn't fair, when all the little lad wanted to do was jump into one of the sofas by the fire. With a frown upon his face, Spike finally made it into the Common Room. Thankfully no one was around to witness his difficulty in getting in. Well, he hoped not anyway, and he gave a furtive look around to check. All clear.

With a tut and shake of his head directed at the knocker, Spike moved through the firsties and towards his usual arm chair. As he did so, he spotted Finn. "Could have waited to let me in too..." he said, shaking his head. His curls bounced lightly, except those were Matilda was located. "But at least there's no fire to start my second term here."
