Aurora curled up in one of the common room chairs, her violin case on her knee. It had arrived almost immediately after the feast with a long-winded letter from her mother and she wanted to check that it was alright and maybe find a quiet place to play before going to bed. She put the letter to one side and undid the catches on the case. She took a deep breath, there it was, her beautiful Stradivarius. The colours flickered in the light of the candles as she removed her bow and tightened it, running the rosin up and down it. She sighed, she supposed people in the common room wouldn't appreciate her playing and wondered who she should ask about private practice rooms.
