And most recently when Maya visited her home in Italy and she got to teach her former colleague a little bit. "So have you seen anything in regards to the schooner?" Fina asked, conversationally. Naturally she was referring to readings Renee might have done in regards to it. If anyone at the staff table would have seen anything, it would have been Renee. The decision about what she wanted to eat seemed to be made easier than Renée had thought. If she considered her earlier contemplation of just making a meal out of the cookies. Instead, she'd helped herself to some roast chicken and vegetables, along with a roll. Then, she realized Fina had been talking, and she turned toward the Arithmancy professor once again with another smile. "Exactly. Although I have to admit I've learned a lot more than just bits of the language during most of my traveling." The flaw to having done most of her traveling on research missions. She'd gotten better at deciding to travel for more amusement than to learn more about Divination, at least in the last year or so.
She grinned as the conversation shifted to the ship, however. "In the way you're referring to, not yet. I've been more focused on actually seeing the schooner than anything else, but I have plans to look," she admitted, taking a small bite of her chicken after she'd finished speaking. She still vaguely thought she remembered reading something, along the lines of a legend or two, back when she'd been a student here. It was enough to get her interested to at least see what the cards might say. Quote:

He helped himself with a decent slice of kidney pie, and nodded along somewhat distractedly to what she was saying. "In many ways, actually," Replied Lachlan, giving her a small side-ways smile. "Both aren't truly for everyone because not everyone is made for them, you see? And I'd say both areas require endless amount of patience." Not many people had, that unfortunately. Or fortunately, seeing that if they did, he would probably not have a job. Hmm. Before she could go back to her meal, Renée smiled over at Lachlan. That wasn't difficult, as he was just this side of Fina. "He did," she verified. "Max seems to have quite the memory for his former students, don't you agree?" At least, when it came to Lachlan and Seren. It didn't quite bother her if the older professor hadn't remembered her, beyond last term. That worked out well, in some ways, remembering a few incidents from when she was younger.
The sideways smile she'd gotten from the CoMC professor surprised her a little, though. It had been unexpected, with the earlier awkwardness. "I would have to agree with that, although at least basic knowledge can help one out," she replied, before laughing softly. "One could also say that about teaching. That it requires patience." That was definitely the case here, although she'd experienced that elsewhere, too. Quote:

Nika turned her head towards the Gryffindor table and looked at her empty seat beside Emily. "See you in class professor! Bye." Renée couldn't begrudge the students their little visits, though, and as such, she'd turned back to Nika as the little Gryffindor spoke again. It seemed she was more observant than one would think, as the girl had apparently decided to take her leave. "If it's not, you might risk someone else eating it," she pointed out with a smile, at Nika's words. Heading back to the Gryffindor table would be recommended, not just so she and the rest of the staff could eat in peace. Nika needed it just as much as they did. "Of course," she concluded, smiling again at the mere energeticness. Class would certainly be interesting again this term.
