Giggling, she leaned forward crossing her ankles under the table. "I thought someone had brought one of the "GO Gryffindor" lion hats." With a rueful shake of her head, she grinned. "I'm not going to lie that roar was quite impressive."

Giving a laugh at a sudden thought, she continued. "It's a shame eagles don't have any distinctive call. I'm sure if I suddenly squawked or gave a bird call everyone would give at me "crazy girl" looks."

Sophie caught wind of something that a passing Slytherin student said to his mate. Sighing and turning to Ivy she said "Too late. Legend has already lost 15 points up at the staff table. I heard some snakes talk about it. I don't know for what but we couldn't jinx it even if we tried." It was expected but the the lioness prefect still grumbled a bit. If only her house could make it through a feast without landing in the negatives.

Her stomach gave another loud grumble which made Sophie once again look up at the staff table. Was Headmaster Tate making them hungry on purpose before he gave his speech? At the moment she was hungry enough to eat anything in sight. Sophie grimaced as Ivy finally made the connection. "Yes, that was all him. No magic." Her grimace turned into a giggle as the lioness mumbled "If only it had been one of those house pride lion hats. I think the first years would've taken that better than him roaring. If they have nightmares tonight we know who the culprit is."

Sophie shot Ivy a warm smile. "They wouldn't give you "crazy girl" looks your their house prefect. They want to be on your good side. Maybe you can look up how a raven sounds and then try to mimic it in the common room in front of a select few house mates and see if they like it?" the lioness didn't know what else to suggest it was easier with a lion since everybody could roar one way or the other.

Just then Headmaster Tate stood up to give his speech and like on a given signal the whole great hall became silent. When he was finished and food appeared on the table in front of her Sophie blurted out confused to both Ivy and Finlay "Why didn't headmaster Tate say 'try not to die' like he always does in his speeches? Could something be wrong already?" If that was the case then surely all the prefects would've been briefed about it on the train, right?
