"Eirwen." Zara smiled. "She's my pet owl. It means "snow, fair, white, blessed, holy" in Welsh and "as white as snow" in Irish. I just thought of sending her home to bring a letter to mum and dad about my first day here." Her long and tiring first day, I should say. "Of course, you will be in it." Zara winked.

"Of course, I'm delighted to be here. It's my first time away from..." Zara thought of a more simple word for mansion. "Home." She finished.

My cousin Rex was very good at talking to the younger boys and girls" William told her. "Is the common room open?" William asked Zara.

"Thanks, William." Zara smiled, but it did seem awkward. Sure it was a nice compliment, but Zara wasn't used to being told that. "Oh, you have a cousin here? What year is he in?" She said, curious about his relatives. "Do you have brothers or sisters here too?"

Then she answered his question, "I've talked to the Gryffindor guy Prefect. He said that once the headmaster announces that the feast has ended, the Prefects would lead us to the common room and we'll know the password to get in." Zara explained. "But I wonder when this feast will end. The moon's shining bright tonight. It is good to get a good night's sleep at a fine night like this."
