He was in Ravenclaw after all so it stood to reason that he would be from the academic end of the gene pool. He seemed pretty social to her though, they were talking weren't they? Though she supposed it would be hard to be at a school where everyone expected you to be like your older sister, someone you weren't...aside from the you know, normal guy girl differences.

And then it was her turn to snort although her's was in laughter. Raising one eyebrow as if to say an incredulous "really?", Ivory purposefully gave him an exaggerated once over, her dark eyes taking in his hair, face, and build all in one go as if she were some sort of judge at a male beauty pageant. "Eh, you're alright." she replied, a wicked gleam in her eye.

Of course she couldn't keep up the facade of judgmental critic for too long because she burst out laughing of course, the sound whimsical. "I kid."

Still stifling little chuckles, Ivory composed herself a bit as he spoke again. My, that sounded like a line straight out of a boy-meets-girl script. On a related not, would it be weird if she commented on his eyelashes? Many had short little stubby things but he had quite nice ones...for a guy. No, she couldn't imagine a situation where she could say that and have it not be awkward. Best to keep that to herself. Anywho...

"About myself?" Musing a little, she ran a hand through her hair fingercombing it for a second. "Well, I've been here since my first year and before that I attended a muggle elementary school in Florida across the pond in America. Wasn't popular back then myself," she admitted with a rueful grin. "Didn't really fit in." Not wanting to make it seem as if she was a complete outcast of a little kid, she added brightly. "Although I did join the region orchestra in my 5th grade. I play the violin."

Turning around for a second to reply to Sophie, she whipped her hair back around at Dallin's comment. "Pretty awesome? Not bordering on insanity?" With a grin, she gave him a playful look. " I'll consider it. But if I did do it, hypothetically speaking of course, it wouldn't be until the food's served." Because then there'd be more ambient eating noise little silverware clanking and plate sliding. "But," she added with a wink. "Only if you dared me." See, because then if she was interrogated as to the why she could easily just point the finger at him. Yup, she was not above finger pointing.

Dallin cocked an eyebrow expectantly as she gave him a once-over. When she gave her verdict, Dallin actually started laughing along with her. He grinned, not saying anything. He officially decided then and there that the Ravenclaw prefect was awesome.

His smile turned sheepish as he waited for her to answer his question. Yes, he knew that what he just said was totally cliché and cheesy. And he was completely okay with that. His eyes widened and he could help but asking, "Where in Florida? I live in Miami!" He closed his mouth though, and let her finish.

"The violin, huh? Do you like it?" His mom had once tried to get him to learn to play the cello, but she'd settled for him teaching himself to play the guitar. That was the only string instrument he would willingly play. He briefly imagined himself at a violin or cello or piano recital, dressed up in an uncomfortable suit playing infront of his family. And he knew that he'd made a very good decision as a little kid not to play those instruments.

He chuckled softly. "Maybe a little insane..." But normal was boring, was it not? Insane was fun! He shook his head slowly while she was talking, smirking. "Okay, if you do it you can blame it on me, if it'll make you feel better about it." He was actually really curious to see if she would squawk for seemingly no reason. "I mean, you can say I dared you. You cannot say that I made the sound." Just in case she was thinking along those lines.
