Merlin only KNEW how many times Lexi threw herself into something new to avoid thinking about a boy.

Reaching over she wiped the tear from Kurumi's face she smiled softly. "If you can't laugh about it... it's not worth crying over, babe," she said with a little squeeze.

"And the firsts are always the hardest... they cut the deepest, but love gets easier and you will find someone better," she promised.
Kurumi giggled a little as Lexi spoke. Somehow, the older lioness always had a way of making her feel better, just like a family member would. "Thank you, Lexi. For everything," she smiled resting her head on the older girl's shoulder. "I really don't know what I would do without you."

Kurumi blinked in surprise as Lexi removed a tear from her face. She really couldn't laugh about many things in her life, but she wasn't sure that she could just tuck them away in a box and pretend that they didn't matter.

Smiling, she nodded. She certainly felt like she had been cut deep that that salt was being rubbed in the wound with sprinkles of lemon juice now and again.

"I guess this means I will pour everything I have into yearbook...and other things," she giggled with a wink.

"Walnut won't be alone next year...i really hope I'd find the perfect cat for me." she said. "Walnut will have a new playmate then."
"I had a rough time last term with chocolate frogs...we had to banish them in Charms class. I am still having nightmares about the things jumping and melting all over me." Which was also why she hadn't tried to make any cookies that included them. It would look like a murder scene with chocolate frog bits all over the place as she hacked away at them with a knife. "Walnut would probably like that," she said slowly and laughing nervously. That is IF Walnut accepted the cat as his equal...

"I'll be right back," Hugo smiled and hopped over to the Ravenclaw table and took a cookie with an awesome ninja move. He walked back and took a bite out of the blue cookie. "Delicious Kurumi," Hugo said as he chewed loudly on the cookie. "We need to bake some together sometime," he said and patted the notebook in his pocket. "Anyways," he said and sat down again, "How was your summer?" He felt like he didn't hang out with her enough over the summer. He should've been there more to cheer her up, like he did that summer in '73 for Fee.
"Summer was alright," she shrugged. "Father is working half the time at the Daily Prophet now, so I got to spend more time in Diagon Alley." She padded her pockets for a moment searching for the gift she had bought Hugo and her other friends, but realized that she must have left them in her trunk. "I bought you something, but I will have to give it to you later. I bought it when I went on a trip with my mother and brothers right before the term began."

Kurumi raised an eyebrow at Selina. "I'll think about it." She flicked her eyes back at the staff table. Professor Vindictus seemed to think that she would one day be able to master the art of flying...but she needed to be able to take off and land properly first. Then, she couldn't help but laugh, nearly spitting her pumpkin juice all over Selina's face, when the red head did the puppy dog eyes at her. "I didn't say no, I just said I would think about it."
