She explained while tugging gently at a loose curl that laid on her shoulder.
She glanced over at the Gryffindor table and then back at her little sister, not completely sure of where she wanted to be at the moment. It was a tough choice, really; Melina was so wonderful, but on the other hand, she hadn't seen anyone in her house nearly all summer... "We can definitely meet up somewhere, just let me know where. You can use my owl if you want, if you can't find me. He's usually in with all of the other owls, and if you send a message with him, he'll find me. But I'll show you the entire castle if I have to; there will be no getting lost on my watch." Adelyn assured her little sister with a grin.
Melina nodded her head enthusiastically at Adelyn.
"We'll be together at breakfast tomorrow, right? I can see you then. I don't know how crazy it's going to be around here this week, but if there's time, I'd love for you to give me that tour!" She didn't really want to let Adelyn go- she suddenly had the absurd impulse to cling to her big sister's leg. But the mental image was enough to make Melina laugh out loud.
She reached out and hugged Adelyn tightly, holding her for that extra moment reserved for only the most loved family and friends. Pulling back, she looked at her sister (gosh, that sounded so nice to say) and said,
"I hope you have a great night, sweetie. And I hope my nerves let me sleep at all!" she laughed. Even though she really
was worried about it.
