The Gryffindor swallowed anxiously, trying to keep his nerves in check. "No." he said croakily, his gaze flickering backwards and forwards frantically between her face and the table. "It's yummy." Yummy? Really? He blinked.

Biting back a whimper, her braced himself. "Mashed potatoes?" He forced a quick smile. "I'm Matt." He nodded, up and down like that dog off the adverts; it took him a while to realise he was doing it. "Sorry." he said hastily, realizing he was acting like an idiot. He pulled at his robes.

Ah, ghosts. "His head's half cut off..So it's nearly headless." He grinned a little. "Poor Nick." There was an air of snobbiness to her voice that grated against his gut, but he ignored it. He was having a hard enough job with his nerves as it was.
