SIGH. "Alright I guess. You?"
Ellie smiled at the familiar girl. Yes, hi indeed.
Nod. "We probably have. It's a big school, too, though. So..." she shrugged. People could easily confuse and forget people. "Mmm. Food." And lack thereof was a good excuse for anything. Tate didn't seem to always understand that. Otherwise, he wouldn't take YEARS to make his speech, now would he? "Ivory." Yeah, that was totally familiar. "And I'm Ellie." Nice to re-meet you. Smilesss. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Ellie." she replied with a smile. It really was considering as the Ravenclaw prefect she should probably get to know her housemates better. She's been so horribly shy the previous year, it's no wonder no one knew who she was. But not this year! This term she'd be involved, and make friends, and all that good stuff. Yes, that was the plan. Quote:

Must be old-fashion rules or something that he didn't need to worry about. "I don't think I could be a Prefect," He mused thoughtfully. "I don't have the patience to deal with trouble-makers, and I wouldn't be much of a help to students who needed it."
He followed her gaze to the Staff table and nodded. "I was thinking about formally meeting some teachers this year. Getting off on a good start." He looked up at the professors for a second longer before returning to the conversation.
He raised an eyebrow at her improvised name for his 'duties,' but smiled. "Oh, those! Yeah, they're going great." Yes, he was going to make this up as he went along. "I've, uh, made new friends," he nodded to her, "and... met up with old ones!" He nudged Ellie gently and smiled at her. He gave her an innocent look for a second in regard to his smirk, then gave up on it. "I dunno," he said honestly. "I just thought it was sort of funny... I was going to be all excited and stuff, give you a hug, and you kinda lacked the energy I thought you would have." Maybe that wasn't the honesty she was looking for, but oh well.
Hmm... that kind of explained why she hadn't been excited, yeah? "Something wrong?" Not to intrude... but she could tell him if she wanted. As long as it wasn't something totally girly that he'd have to listen to and pretend to care about. No, that would be bad. "I'm good. Really good, actually." And he didn't know exactly why, he just was. "To be completely honest, neither did I at first." she answered truthfully. "There's not too many though, for the most part Ravenclaws are a good bunch." She said that last part with a bit of pride. Yeah, she was proud of her house. "Oh don't sell yourself short." He seemed like an intelligent guy. "I'm sure you would help if someone really needed it."
He didn't seem like the sort of guy to turn someone in need away. But then again that was just her first impression. "You know," she began with a grin. "Some people think of it as sucking up to meet the Professors on the first day." Not that she was calling him a suck up of course. "But I like to think of it as laying of the ground work. Like you said get off on a good start. Shows them you have initiative and whatnot." Most people admired that.
Her lips quirked up at his enthusiasm for his duties. Giving a small giggle, she nodded. Yes, those sounded like excellent duties. "Well then I guess that makes us official new friends."
