So she just kind of stood in front of the table before clasping her hands together, smiling widely. OH YES. POINTS FOR THE CHARMING SMILE."HAIIIIII."She called out to EVERYONE."I'm Minnie, I'm a third year and well, I'm a Sl..Sl..Slytherinininn?"She looked at her robes and then back at everyone at the table before shrugging and giggling."Anyway, I'm new and I know no one so like..... LETSBECOMEBESTFRIENDS, K?"She beamed, holding two thumbs up.
Always the charmer, Minnie Petrov was. Alex jumped a little bit when someone started SQUEALING nearby...what was it? Had someone let their pet rat loose in the Great Hall!? He turned around and saw...a girl. Just standing there. Waving. Not looking like she was being chased by a giant rat or anything. "Ummm...hi. I'm Alex. I'm...not a Slytherin. I'm a Hufflepuff," he said, introducing himself with a little wave. He hadn't met ANY nice Slytherin girls yet, so why not try and be friendly with the one who DID seem pleasant? Chances were she wouldn't call him a Puffer Boy. Or a giant. Or you know, just be generally nasty towards him. Quote:

Oh, Alex!" she said, her voice a little more excited than usual. It had been months, literally, since she'd seen her brother, and Merlin it looked like he'd grown even taller than he'd been the last time she'd seen him. Sierra had always secretly joked that Alex was half mountain troll, what with his unusual height of--what? 5'6"? 5'7"? Hmm...--at such a young age.
...and then awkwardness set in. Why? She didn't exactly know, but she found it sort of hard to think of something else to say. "So, ...how was your summer?" she finally asked. Yeah. That's what she wanted to know. "Well, not too bad actually...I was...erm...I actually worked on my flying a bit. I can get 10 feet off the ground now before I get all dizzy and stuff," he explained with a chuckle. He wondered how she'd react to THAT one. He was hoping for a gasp of surprise, maybe even a fall out of the chair due to shock. Either one was cool with him. "Then I just doodled a lot. Mostly flowers cause that's all I could find in the backyard. Besides bugs," SHUDDER. "How about you?" he asked. He was actually curious as to how her summer had been. Dad was Senior Undersecretary now...it had to be interesting living with THAT right?
