Now she simply had to find where they were, and then wait… fifteen years, fifteen years until she could have her revenge. Smiling wider, she rubbed the crystal ball and the smoke continued to clear…

]I dived into the water and felt it surround me. I sliced through it, cool, silky, and perfect. Laughing, I jumped into the air, water droplets splashing everywhere, sparkling in the sunlight. Today ws my twelfth birthday, and nothing was going to bring me down! Swimming had always been my favorite activity, but today I especially loved it.
The class lined up against the wall, and we all pushed off and began the butterfly stroke. As I swished my legs up and down, I felt something strange going on with my feet. They seemed to be lengthening and getting thinner. Then, as I reentered the water after a breath, I saw that skin stretched between my fingers, looking greenish in the water.
I paused and twisted around to look at my feet. My toes had grown at least two inches, with webs in between them. Using strong, powerful strokes, aided my transformed hands and feet, I began heading for the edge of the pool. Before I got there I felt a sharp pain in my fingers, toes, and mouth. Claws emerged, and when I reached up to touch my mouth, my hand came down bleeding from razor sharp teeth.
I suddenly realized that I had been underwater for a while, and hadn’t needed breath. Looking at the blood rising up from my finger turning pinkish and cloudy in the water, I felt pain rack my body and my eyes slid closed as I fell into darkness with the sound of screaming surrounding me. Just before I lost consciousness, I heard a voice in my head say, ‘Good. It is beginning.’
