Default Slytherin Quidditch Rules & News.

This post and THIS post only will contain every of the rules and new you will need to know.

Practice Times, Matches Dates & New Rules.

Everytime you enter here (the new Q thread), you will -and I need you to- check all of the Rule improvements and news regarding Quidditch. Following will be another post which will be equally important for you to read, which would be the "Slytherin Team state", containing the Roster and Reserve Team, the organization plan and people who can and cannot be here (online) during either practice and/or matches (depending on which is more urgent).

So, please, read each of this carefully, feel free to PM and ask about, and let's become great, Slytherins!

Quote:
Simple Rules for Slytherins:

PLAYERS: Only two team containing One Keeper, One Seeker, Two Beaters and Three Chasers each can. Example: Gryffindor vs Slytherin.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Only 5 per match. Must be approved by Referee and posted in the match thread.

BEATERS: Are for defensive purpose so only when it says "Bludger to Slytherin" you, Beaters, can answer. You will be an alternative "Keeper" for when we lack one or ours is too slow.
NOTE: In essence this means that during question that a Beater questions come in to play, there are 3 players on offense (3 Chasers Team A) and 3 players on defense (2 Beaters, 1 Keeper on Team B) - Spots

SNITCHES: Will be released in especific dates which Sir Spots gives before handed to the Headmaster and those date/times won't be changed. Also, Seeker are giving some heads up for it by the posting of a "spotting-of-snitch" a couple of hours before it happens.

MATCHES: Will start according to Sir Spots, our current referee, and might last for as long as a complete week!

SLYTHERINS: Only the members of the Team can post in the match + ONLY if I made you be one of the Starting-Seven you can + ONLY to play, not to chat. No member posting will cause loose of points, no member of the Starting Seven will make us loose points and chatting in the thread as well as bashing in the stands, will make us not only loose point but also give you detention.

The Game as Told by The Authorities ...& New Rules.
(New Rules are highlighted)

Quote:
Chasers and Keepers

The Chasers and the Keeper are basically the most vital players. They are the ones who need to be the most active. To start off, a Quaffle Question will be represented to the Chasers and the Keeper. This question is not for all Chasers though - the questions are asked in turn, so first the (Gryffindors, for example) are asked the questions, and after that the (Slytherins) and so on. The object of the game is to be fast.

Quaffle: How many fouls can be made in Quidditch?

As soon as the question is represented, the Chasers have to answer. If they answer correctly, they gain 10 points. But if the opposing Keeper manages to answer the question first, then the goal is blocked and no points will be handed out. If the Chaser who answers first answers wrong, no points will be given out. If the Keeper answers wrong, he/she has not been able to block the goal and 10 points will be given to the opposing team. Then another question is asked, this time targeted to the other team, and the game follows the same pattern.

Beaters

The Beaters don't have too important of a role, so they needn't be here all the time. Every once in a while a Bludger Question will be asked.

Bludger: Who holds the record for the fastest capture of the Snitch to date?

Only the Beater from the defensive team can answer the question. The Beater who answers (correctly) first has thus hit the Bludger and prevented the opposing Chaser to score.

Seekers

The Seekers must be knowledgeable about HP and Quidditch in general, though they don't need to be so active all the time. At some points of the game, a Snitch Question will be presented. This will be a difficult question.

Snitch: Who was the first ever person to cross the Atlantic by broom?

The first Seeker to answer it will get a bit closer to catching the Snitch. After "catching" the Snitch three times, they finally really catch the Snitch and the game is over, giving the Snitch catcher's team an additional 150 points.

---

The points are given to the houses judging by how many points they beat the other team by. The points awarded to the winning team are equal to the difference in the scores or 150 points, whichever is greater.

Quote:
Example #1 (from our last game):

Final score: Slytherin 240 / Hufflepuff 75

240 - 75 = 165

therefore, Slytherin received 165 points for winning the match

Quote:
Example #2 (hypothetical):

Final Score: Ravenclaw 300 / Gryffindor 200

300 - 200 = 100

100 < 150

therefore, Ravenclaw would receive 150 points for winning the match
(Thanks Airlia for the clearing up!)

---

And so always the first person's answer is crucial. If they answer correctly, then it's good. If they answer wrong but someone answers correct after them, then it doesn't count. Everything relies on the first person.
NOTE: If the move on the Quaffle is posted first either correctly or incorrectly it nullifies whatever answer was presented by the beater. Each action is controlled by the first answer. So if the Quaffle question is answered correctly ( and first) and the beater is not, it doesn't matter, the shot counts. And if the Quaffle question is answered incorrectly (but first) and the Beater question is answered correctly ( but second)the beater answer doesn't matter (beacuse it came second) - Spots.

- Any player or Mod(with the exception of those responsible for the match) found to have either altered or deleted a post will cost their team the match and 100 points towards the House Cup.

- Player substitutions must be approved by the Starting Captain and properly posted by the Match official and answers can not be given by a player unless they're in an approved position.

- Each team will only be allowed 5 substitutions for an entire match so pick your players wisely. If players aren't able to participate regularly in matches then find some that are.

- If there's a Beater question offered, then it's to the team who is NOT answering the Quaffle question.

- Players should NOT to try and answer a question that is not poised for their position. Out of position answers (such as a beater answering a snitch question, or a reserve player answering ANY question) will result in a penalty and 25 points being awarded to the opposing team.

OTHER QUIDDITCH RELATED RULES:

Non-Quidditch players are NOT to answer the posted questions. If non-Quidditch team members answer questions, the assigned points will be deducted from that House's total points. There will be no exceptions.

---

At the start of a match, I will flip a coin to decide who gets the first Quaffle question. I realize this is somewhat random, but each team should have an equal opportunity to answer/score and or block an attempted goal.

---

During a match I will start a "Fans and Chearleading" Fourm for non-team members to participate. Feel free to cheer your team on to your heart's content. Non-team members are to post only in this forum. As I mentioned before, posting in the actual match forum will cost your House Team Points!
