This most specifically applies to romantic and familial relationships, but a business partnership or your connection with your best friend certainly qualifies as well.
Some relationships will impose very "heavy" karmic lessons. Examples of these are:Illness, Addiction, Criminality, Death, and Betrayal."
Well, that summed up karmic lessons. Now karmic debts... "Karmic debt means that something negative happened in the past that must be addressed in the present or the future before you can continue to enjoy your life fully," said Samira. "I guess the difference is that Karmic Lessons are...well, lessons. Things you learn from. And Karmic Debt is paying up for something you did before."
