Alex gasped at the action on the field, but was immediately distracted by the sound of someone yelling, and then by the sudden jerk on his arm as the girl next to him grabbed onto him for dear life. EEEP! HE was going to fall! Throwing out his long arms to balance himself, he looked back out on the field and saw that, to his relief, she was ok. He smiled and looked back at the girl who was clinging to him to tell her the good news.

"Erm, it's ok! Look, she's fine, it's all...well, actually, it's not ALL fine I mean, we lost," he said with a sort of sigh. Ah well. It was fun while it lasted, and at least they'd made it to the championship game, right? Right.
