He knew it was probably a statement he should have found humor in, and he tried to will it to the surface, but nothing came. With a shrug and a frown he sat up straight, plucking a few blades of grass from the ground. "I'd rather drown." Not exactly the words he had been intending, but apparently they were the most heartfelt and prominent on his mind.
Arya's expression fell just a bit before she glanced down at her food. She hadn't meant to upset him anymore than she'd already done today, but it was too late to take the words back. All she could do was pop the grape rolling between her fingers into her mouth, and look out towards the security gate. Maybe they could just sit in the limos until the party was over.
"I don't think we'll have to do anything else for him today." She hoped they didn't. And even if they did, Arya still wouldn't be preforming for him.
