“Remus.”

The tone of voice had been serious enough for Remus to not recognize the speaker as James. Slowly, the boy looked up from his Potions essay and found his three best friends staring down at him. It was late—late enough that most of the light the fireplace provided was rather dim. But it was not dim enough to conceal the odd looks dominating his friends’ faces.

He eyed them warily, “What is it?”

It was Sirius the one who asked the question Lupin dreaded the most, “Where do you disappear to every time there’s a full moon, Remus?”
